Welcome to Community High School Akweze, Anambra State Nigeria.
Brief History
Community High School Akwaeze stemmed from the ingenious thought of Late Mr Chibueze O.E Okechukwu, the zeal and assiduity of the Akwaeze Youth Confederacy (A.Y.C) and Akwaeze people in general, and the supervision and benevolence of the Anambra State Government. A duly approved crop of buildings for educational and habitation purposes was erected in 1977.
On 6th April 1978, the school received from the Ministry of Education its formal approval to open. On 9th October 1978, it made its maiden call for admission to great success, registering 156 students a month later and going on to win awards, notably the Match Past Cup in 1979 and 1980. The school was a girls’ school (named Girls High School Akwaeze) before it became co-educational in 2012 at the appeal of the Akwaeze people.
